I have a 645Ci and when I bought it the dealer told me that it doesnt have bluetooth.As it turned out later the car had bluetooth interface in options list (when you press down the selector knob). I followed the steps for pairing my mobile phone (Nokia 6630) with the car by initiating the connection from the phone and added the device to the car.. I mean it appears as a connectable device on the iDrive screen but when I try to connect to the car interface from the phone it seems that my phone identifies the car interface as another phone.. not as an interface it can connects to.. I hope Im describing my problem clearly enough.. Another thing that might be a factor that my car came with a fixed phone.. i.e. a cordless handset that I paired with the car when I first used it.
