Hello everyone, I had one heck of a time getting the Bmcable.com/bcable.com "one click" software to work on my pc, but I have dont this succesfully, and I would like to share my experience so maybe this will help some people.
Details:
- Have my own K-DCAN cable, did not buy theirs.
- Windows 8 x64
-BCables 2 disk DVD software
Info"
1) So I started with a fresh install on my PC, just because I had an extra laptop, but I did this so I knew for sure there would be NO anti-virus software running. I also turned off my windows defender and firewall.
2) Inserted DVD #1 and run
3) Cable Not in laptop, Install INPA/Ediabas (Do not restart PC until I tell you)
4) Install USB Cable Drivers (will ask for you to insert cable, if you have theirs, then its all good, if you like me, have your own, it might not see yours and the message box "please connect bcables.com usb cable" will remian. This will go away after some 10+ min or so, but will pop back up each time a new install is finnished, PITA)
5) Install VMware Player
6) Install DIS
7) Install Navcoder and TIS if you wish, (TIS will take a very long time)
8)Insert DVD #2 and in stall SSS Progman
9) Restart PC
10) Make sure you have correct EDIABAS folder named; see bellow:
You will notice that in C: you have two folders. EDIABAS & EDIABAS1. You have these two folders because the files in the EDIABAS folder are updated versions and will work with NCSexpert, INPA, WinKFP. The files in the EDIABAS1 folder will work with DIS & SSS PROGMAN. ***Very Important*** Which ever set of programs you want to work, that folder needs to have the EDIABAS name. So to use the DIS & Progman do this:
Rename :
EDIABAS1 ----> EDIABAS
EDIABAS ------> EDIABAS7
If you want to use the NCSexpert, INPA, WinKFP then:
Keep Original file names, thus if you changed them to use DIS, change them back to original, for example:
Rename to orignial:
EDIABAS ------> EDIABAS1
EDIABAS7 -----> EDIABAS
You will need to keep these folders straight so the correct programs work.
11) Install Drivers for your cable, Run OBDSetup.exe, confirm Ok and Enter *update to follow* Restart PC.
Running Programs:
-NCSexpert, INPA, WinKFP
Running INPA:
1) Make sure correct folder is Named EDIABAS accoding to instructions above.
2) Find C:\EC-APPS\INPA\BIN INPALOAD and Run "as as an administrator"
3) Connect cable to car
4) Turn on ignition and confirm both black dots are lit, making sure you can communicate with car.
5) Run NCSexpert:
(C:\NCSEXPER\Bin\NCSEXPER.exe Run "as as an administrator")
but read and understand this software, very powerful. Tons of info online.
6) Run WinKFP:
(C:\EC-APPS\NFS\Bin\winkfpt.exe Run "as as an administrator")
Most likely will need to use BMW Coding Tools v2.5 to update files.
- Will need SP-Daten files. *Can use this to update NCSexpert, INPA, WinKFP folders*, but make sure you update the correct EDIABAS folder for the NCSexpert, INPA, WinKFP applications according to instructions above. I have not tried this on the DIS & Progman EDIABAS correct folder i.e. original EDIABAS1 folder... Do at your own risk.
Running DIS GT1
1) Restart PC
2) Make sure correct EDIABAS folder is used...:
Rename :
EDIABAS1 ----> EDIABAS
EDIABAS ------> EDIABAS7
3)Find application C:\EDIABAS\Bin\ifhsrv32 and Run "as as an administrator"
-Connect Cable to PC
4)Go to desktop and Run "as as an administrator" VMware Player
5) If you don't see your DIS then File>Open Virtual Machine & locate in C:\VMImages\DIS\DIS\Other; Select and open.
6) Select DIS GT1 in VMware Player and Play Virtual Machine
7)Once loaded, Connect to Car, No charger on battery, select Diagnose... DIS will give you instructions to connect charger to car... continue using DIS
8) Shut down properly
Running SSS Progman:
*I'm still trying to get this software to connect to car without getting voltage error. But I beleive this is correct way, please let me know if I'm doing something wrong.
1) Restart PC
2) Make sure correct EDIABAS folder is used...: (same as DIS)
Rename :
EDIABAS1 ----> EDIABAS
EDIABAS ------> EDIABAS7
3)Find application C:\EDIABAS\Bin\ifhsrv32 and Run "as as an administrator"
-Connect Cable to PC
4) 2) Find C:\EC-APPS\INPA\BIN INPALOAD and Run "as as an administrator"
- Connect cable to car
5) Turn on ignition and confirm both black dots are lit, making sure you can communicate with car.
6)Go to desktop and Run "as as an administrator" VMware Player
7) If you don't see your SSS then File>Open Virtual Machine & locate in C:\VMImages\SSS\SSS\Windows XP Professional; Select and open.
8) Select BMW SSS V32 in VMware player and play virtual machine.
9) Try starting a new session>select diaghead>continue>select your car series and model>and start using it.
10>can also try new connection by Administration>Interfaces>External Interface>Add>192.168.68.1>Continue>Home and back to step 9. Good luck!
11) Shut down properly
