The SAS has to be programmed with a BMW computer. If your indy doesn't have one you'll have to take it to the dealer.I have this 04 X5 with DSC 4X4 mil light on constantly. Scanned system found fault code 5EB1 Steering angle sensor supply, 5F3A Transfer case (54C6 oil wear). I replaced the transfer case oil and reset the adaptation. I replaced the steering angle sensor and relearned and I replaced the Yaw sensor. I erased all fault codes but the DSC 4x4 mil light remained. What else could cause this problem. I am not very confident to condemn the DSC module. Any advice, thank you.
The steering angle sensor. You said you replaced it and still had the light. The steering angle sensor has to be programmed. You can't just clear the fault code. What is this SAS? You meaned the DSC module? Do you think the fault is due to the DSC module or something else that I should look into?
Wheel speed sensors? The steering angle was replaced and programmed or relearned or re-calibrated. The fault codes erased. The DSC mil light came back as soon as I restarted. It would not turn off. Re-scanned DSC system fault code 5EB1 reset. I also replaced the YAW sensor as recommended by a mechanic but to no avail. what else should I check ?
Sorry, but I don't know.Wheel speed sensors are all o.k. ABS is functioning properly. Does the DSC need programming if replaced.
Yes..if you have issues with your ABS/DSC control module and decide to replace it instead of having it repaired...the replacement will usually require coding except in perhaps some rare situation...but you may still have some small issue if the module isn't coded to your car.Does the DSC need programming if replaced.
