I have a check engine light and the codes reads by BMW:

44 Activation solenoid valve, tank ventilation

I was wondering if it the fuel rubber seal, so I have attached it so you can judge before I pay BMW more money to investigate.

Usually that is the problem and would be the first thing to replace in regards to the code. The new BMW patrol cap will be blue so don't be alarmed that it's not green. Stick with Genuine BMW only for this part.

I have changed the rubber seal on it with a new one.

Do I have to get the code reset or will go out on its own if that's the problem?

Just reset it, if that's not your problem it'll come back.

Even after the changing the seal, the light went off for a day only to come back on again, I've brought the fuel level right down and then filled up with 95
