BMW gives dealers EXTRA $7,000 bonus on July 31

Just read in the WSJ how BMW gave its dealers a ONE DAY BONUS - only on July 31, of 7K per 2012 BMW.

This is based on the Mercedes vehicle sale competition, and poor sales in Europe (due to recession).

This must be how we read about these "unbelievable" deals every once in a while and just can't understand how!

Really confusing for the consumer who is happy to get loyalty and BMW CCA discounts.

Sure would be nice to know about these "secret" events.

Especially because it's now 15 days later. :)
Too bad the internet manager didn't call me....I could be driving a new car.
To the extent those punched cars (the cars that they are referring to in the article) are still on the dealer's lot, you can still buy these cars with the discount (option allowance) through Sept. 3rd.

I think the $7,000 was referring to the 7 series. For the 5 series, I believe that its $2,500 for the 528, $3,500 for the 535 and $4,000 for the 500.
A little more to it, from automobile:

Report: BMW Inflating Sales Numbers By Giving Dealers Big Discounts

BMW and Mercedes-Benz have been battling it out this year to claim the title of the top-selling luxury automaker in the U.S. As of the end of last month, BMW had crept ahead of its rivals from Stuttgart but only by a very slim 1985-unit margin. (BMW sold 21,297 cars to Mercedes
I was able to score a great deal because my car was "punched". I didn't ask a lot of questions, as I knew I was getting a fatty hook up.
