Once my order arrives, I suspect that I'll have little use for the "Owners' Circle". Until then, I figure if it updates my status, then the car is even closer than the website thinks....
Other than being able to download the owners manual, the site is pretty worthless. It's also very slow to load.
Priority Email sucks too! I contacted them a few times and all I got in response was "contact your dealer for assistance". Why bother!! Needless to say, I don't go there anymore! :thumbdwn:
There was a great article on this in the back of the current Roundel. If only BMW would listen and put something useful on this site. It's only useful (marginally) to track your order. Once you have it, there's nothing there.
Thanks for the info all! I posted this thread primarily out of frustration!!
I think it's main function is cross-marketing for BMW. Otherwise I agree that the only useful functions are order-tracking, the manual download, and a few online propaganda articles. It is very, very slow to load as well. Listen up BMW; your customer service level is quite good, but this is a Kaizen opportunity.
The order tracking feature is very out dated. My car arrived at my dealership last friday. Today (monday) I checked owners club site and it says my car is still at the VPC !!

hahaha, maybe you have two? :yikes: ;)
I guess the order tracking is quite variable because my experience has been very good. My 325i came off the boat Thur the 6th. Early the next morning it showed at the VPC with an estimated delivery of Wed the 10th. Today (Mon the 8th) the estimated delivery showed 4/8. This afternoon my dealer called and said the car was there.
Not to revive a dead topic, but has anyone else noticed that the owners circle goes much faster from home than from work? I am guessing that going through a proxy server at work is causing the slow speed.
I have noticed it is quicker at home than at the office. I just checked their site and they have my car as being "Produced not Shipped" which is dead on. The car finished production yesterday. I still don't bother with the site that much. BMWNA is the way to go.

Well I can definitely vouch for our firewall being the bottleneck - it slows EVERYTHING down. Damn ITS nut jobs... for a while we were blocked from viewing theonion.com!! =)

LOL, buy one Bimmer get one free! :p
Owners Circle was only 2 days behind BMWNA on my last status change - it seems they have improved the accuracy. In my opinion 2 days is acceptable.
What is the chance the car will ship with the Piolets anyway?

Very slim; it's the 3rd fallback tire BMW has (i.e. it would take a stock shortage of Conties and Dunlops before the Michs would be used).
WOW - that's good info to know I'm calling Monday. Do you think it will be help up at the VPC at all if I have the tires changed?

Thanks!

I got lucky. A BMWNA customer service manager contacted me proactively and offered to switch my tires for me at the VPC. It only took an extra day for them to make the swap, I assume it was just a wheel+tire swap as opposed to a tire mount/dismount type procedure.

Call BMWNA and work your way up the chain. They can do it! ;)
