yes. Tons of clear bras used on BMWs. much better than a detachable bra, which can trap dirt against the paint and running the finish. Clear bra- just wash as you normally wash the car.

Had a bra on my 1973 911. Clouded the paint. Took a year to clear

Assuming that clear bra = PPF, I think that’s the way to go. I got a quote to just cover my front bumper with PPF and it was about $800. If you want to shell out the cash, consider doing the front bumper, hood, and maybe rocker panels.

Switched from fabric to clear in 2007, and using the clear ever since. Still have the vehicle from 2007 and still looks great. No more fabric covers for me.
Oh cool!! May I ask what brand film or other specifics like thickness you used? I heard of some yellowing issues on some and different brands Lamin-x , 3M product (expensive which may say something) others out there.
Given advise not to attempt unless experienced in the application. Best results to let the pros install..

Most of my cars have the 3M, but I have heard good things about Xpel. I don't know the thickness.

My '08 Infiniti SUV got its 3M in July, 2007. I would say it has not yellowed, but perhaps it isn't as clear as it was when new. But otherwise looks great. Our '09 5-series got its 3M in early 2010, and not as clear as when new, but also not yellow.

Wednesday a new-to-me 2012 335is goes in for its clear bra. Whatever the vendor has is what I am going with. He did one of my other cars but I don't recall the brand used. This 335 only has 17k miles on it and looks showroom new.

I agree to let the pros apply it. I have watched videos and I realize I don't have enough patience nor know the tricks to do it myself. I expect to pay around $600 or so, but that is way cheaper than getting the front end painted every few years. Plus I can scrub hard on bugs without damaging paint.

I have a Z3 considering putting on a clear bra. Do you have any more specifics about the one you used and are you happy with it?

i go with whatever the vendor uses. I don’t mean for that to sound vague. I have cars in Oh and Fl, all with clear bras on them. For me it is the best way to protect the front end and keep it looking good.
