hi just booked my e46 in for brake fluid change, guy at shop said should only take 20 minutes, cost £35, but if the lights show on display, its an extra £15 for diagnostic, to clear reset them, is this correct as i have read some posts ,which say after you are done you can put key in ignition, and drive ,and it will reset on its own thanks

i have no lights on yeat its just he said they may light up once he does brake fluid change ,then he has to reset it, but i read somewhere that it would reset itself, if i drove the car is this correct.

All that`s happening is, you`re removing the old fluid via the bleeder fittings on the calipers, while adding fresh fluid to the master cylinder....there`s no reason for any warning lights to be triggered if done properly.

I bled/flushed my brakes today while putting on the summer tires. No lights but the passenger front bleeder was clogged to point where it had to be removed and cleared out.
