I bought a 328i, 1996 couple off months back and when I brake I get screechy noise, now I am not able to figure out from which wheel it’s coming from, after I drove it for a while I touch & see if any off the discs are hotter than the other, but everything feels the same.
The previous owner who had it for a year, don’t think he changed the pads or the disc, also I don’t have the pads worn out warning light as well.
So my only option now is to remove the wheel and pads & measure the thickness of the disc itself? And see if I need a new one.
thanks

run a search and you'll find a wealth of information on this topic.

it's probably not a worn down pad, as our brake pads do not have noise indicators when the pad thickness gets low. Something is probably loose in your brakes. it's more likely to be coming from your fronts. chances are everything is ok, so if you can't stand it, the solution would be to take our your brake pads and grease up the points where the pad touches the caliper. there is anti-squeel lube and spray you can get at any auto parts store
