Braking

Not sure if you guys experience this, but everytime i try to bring the X to a complete stop, the car would jerk just before the complete stop. This happens even though i try my best to smoothen out the "jerk" by being very very lightfooted. Is this normal? I didn't get this problem with my old CRV :dunno:

I can get rid of the jerk though, by shifting to N before i come to a complete stop - but not sure if it is recommended to shift between N and D everytime i stop. I don't mind the jerk when I'm drivin by myself, but when I do carry passengers I try to make them as comfy as I can.

What do you guys think?

you have warped brake rotors

Has NOTHING to do with brake rotors if it is smooth when he shifts into N before stopping. I'd say its a downshift problem going from 2nd gear to 1st. Rough shift.
Feature or problem ?

Do you have the 6 speed tranny ?, heard of that being a 'feature' to help using engine-brake car to a stop, but it shouldn't jolt the car in my opinion.
Yeah, I don't think its the brake rotors. I don't think it's a problem with downshifting from 2nd gear to 1st gear too, cause it's only a slight jerk just before I bring the X to a complete stop. Ok, imagine the jerk when you first learned how to drive and try to bring the car to a complete stop at traffic light.

And yes, it is a 6 speed auto tranny.
That is weird that you feel the rough downshift in normal driving mode (D). Mine only does it when I put it in Sports mode (S). If it bugs you that much, you could try having your dealer reset the adaptive transmission and see if that will help. A possible cause is that may be your transmission have gotten into an "agressive" mapping either inadvertently or by way of it actually learned some of your "bad" driving habits? :dunno:
