just wondering if the Oem charge pipe could handle the extra 4 psi or if it would be smart to upgrade to a better one.

I***8217;d swap it out for something aluminum. The first aftermarket part I installed was an upgraded charge pipe. Word was they tended to crack under increased boost.

Yes it can handle the extra 4 psi, as mine is stock and I am running stage 2 + FMIC tune at about 19 psi and have no issues. Now, if the question is, "Will my charge pipe break simply because it is plastic?", then the answer is yes. Yes it should be changed out for a higher quality one, but it is not mandatory.

The stock charge pipe can't even handle stock pressure. Give it a few years of constant heat cycling and the plastic is done. Spend $400 and buy a good metal replacement.
