My wife's 540 is ready for new shocks. At the same time I want to give her a little more driving excitement. So I want to upgrade the stock base springs.
I found a cheap set of 540 oem sport springs. I want to know if I get new shocks made for the sport springs' will I have any other issues. I know that I will have to get a sport alingnment, but other than that are there any issues I am overlooking.

Thanks

yes. you're thinking too much into this.

get sport shocks/struts to go with the sport springs and you're good to go.

Thanks for the quick reply
What else should I change while I have her apart? (spring pads, bearings)
Thanks

I went ahead and got the sport Bilsteins on sale at BA ($480). I also got the sport springs for $60 from Craigs List. While I was at it I went ahead and got new wheel bearings, spring mounts, and bearing guides from Groton Auto($375). I will give an update once I get them all in next weekend.

Took me about 7 hours to change 4 shocks, springs and front wheel bearings. All in all not to bad other than the 4 bolts holding the wheel bearings in front are a bear to turn. The factory thread lock works real good. The car rides sooooo much better. I also added a M5 rear sway bar.

Sounds like you did excellent work there. +1 on going with an M5 rear sway bar while in there - that really made a difference on my car.
