Center console storage bin!

Hi there! :)
I want to make a little contribution to the community :)

I've recently found a part number for a storage bin, that replaces cup holders and coin holder on the central console.

That part number is 51-16-8-217-927
This is number for black coloured part, there are part numbers for grey and sand too. (I'm lookig for the post I've seen them in, will post later).

The quality of the material is up on bar to the original cup holders, and might I say that it looks a little bit better :) Total price - $54 canadian, which is like 3 bucks US :p

Following are the pics, so judge for yourself.
1st pic - the original cup holders:

And this is the pic with the storage bin in place.

Note that you still can put your drink in there, and it stays in place quite securily. There are rubber in-lays in both sections that enhance that feature :)

Oh, and before somebody points out, e-brake was down only because I needed to take pics :)

Do you wanna sell the cupholder? :D
Rost - great post, thanks! I've been thinking that storage space is seriously lacking in my car, so this would offer some improvement. Please post part # for gray int when you find it!
Nah :)
When I sell the car, I'll give it's new owners additional value represented by the cup holders :lmao:
Geomax- workign on it ;)

Kaz - although...if you wanna pay $5 US for it...which is like $70 Cnd....Then it's your's :)
Here are the part numbers for all colours:

BLACK 51 16 8 2 17 927
GRAY 51 16 8 2 48 498
SAND 51 16 8 2 17 929

As far as I know, grey part is going to be a bit more expensive that other colours. Reason - unknown :dunno:

Got the info from here.

Hope this helps :)

part numbers

51-16-7-038-324 Grey
51-16-7-038-323 Black
51-16-7-038-32x Tan (?)
I put one in too. Discourages those Big Gulp people from bringing their messy slurpees into my car! It also helps make up for the lack of storage in the car.

Now if I could just get my center armrest to stop creaking when I rest my arm on it.:p
What I'd really want would be a hybrid. Leave the cupholders there, but axe the stupid coinholder and put a bigger tray back there.
ERK - it says "Sliding storage container" in that post.
That's different from mine, I have no sliding parts :)
I wonder how it looks like.

I agree with ya. But oh well :) At least now I can show off my european heritage :lmao:
I have the storage bin with the sliding door. It's a little shorter in length and replaces only the cup holder; the coin holder stays.

I bought it from here:

http://www.drinkholders.com/auto/index.htm

They have pictures for both styles.
my bad...

I thought they looked a bit different, but I didn't look close enough. Nice to have two additional choices!

This is the EUROconsole in the URL above. It has a cover over the front bin. I like it better than mine with the open bin. Getting rid of the cupholders for the tray was great, mine's grey.

Got that right! I'm not going to bother buying another one though, my tray is open. Didn't know this existed.
Rather have the closed one. Both look good, but I rather be able to hide things.
Yeah, but the closed one would allow me to put more crap in there and just cover it up... I'd rather keep it clean :) I guess...dunno...Maybe I'll just skip three-four movies in the next couple of weeks and get the second style of tray too :)
