do all the tensioners and pulleys generally go out at the same time. i have 87k and am noticing a squeal whistle whine on very hot days that i'm attributing to the idle rollers or tensioners so i figure i'll replace them all and the belts as well. if any of them aren't as suspect it could save me some dough not replacing them but if they're subject to go out i might as well do it at the same time.

this is for a 2001 540i6 and the parts #'s ive pulled...

quite a bit more than cn90's cooling system replace for the i6!

also im planning on redoing my brakes (new rotors and pads). im leaning towards the axxis ultimates or deluxe pads, though still havent made up my mind. anyone have feedback on the balo/zimmerman/brembo blank debate? it seems like i cant find a full set of blanks by one manufacturer so i might just end up getting the centric rotors from zeckhausen but have only seen one piece of feedback from danb (who seems pretty pleased with them).

im by no means a stellar mechanic or a knowledgable e39'er so any feedback would be great!

changing your brakes

I just did,my brakes, all the rotors and brake pads. I used BMW oem rotors and Axxix deluxe plus pads. at first the braks feel weak, but after i bleeded them, now feel lot better, and look lot better specialy i just changed my wheels, no more rusty rotors.
