E60 550 - I'm driving home and get the message ' Charging Malfunction' with a red battery indicator in the little display between speedo and tach. I ran Carly and got the following error code :002E97 (This was under the generator heading).

Any initial thoughts or similar experience? Is it OK to drive? Trying to get to Indy in the morning.

This happen to me last week. In my case I needed a new battery & alternator.

I got the same charging malfunction.. It turned out to the alternator ... Get it changed asap .. I got stuck on the highway .. Worst place ever
