So, how would you go about doing this? Is there a way that you can check everything that the Idrive could tell you on the Dash behind the steering wheel? I don't really need a GPS, but after my friend showed me how he can check everything and what needs to be fixed, I kind of like the idea. If the concept is the same without the I-drive then I don't mind. Thanks guys.

If you don't have NAV/iDrive, there is an oil level indicator on the dash. It is above the odometer.

No sure what year or model you have, but mine can be checked through the turn indicator stalk.
