The problem with Hydrogen is that it doesn't yield the amount of energy that's consumed in the process of producing it. Solve that problem and man will have free, unlimited power with little/no pollution.

+1. Hydrogen is just an alternative to batteries. It still requires an outside energy source and therefore has a measurable efficiency. The current natural gas to H2 doesn't make sense for vehicles because CO2 is still released and the efficiency of the entire chain is less than just burning the natural gas in an internal combustion engine.

H2 from water is the dream, but the efficiency is so low as to be laughable.
