I need some advice. I have a 2000 540i with 146,000 miles on it. It runs well. It does, however, need new oil pan gaskets, new sway bars and bushings. With labor, I am over $2000 on a car worth $4500.
Questions: Get it fixed and hope to get another 20k miles before buying a used F10 body?
Trade it now on a E60 535i

so, the ultimate question is: how much to do you enjoy driving it? that will offset most of the money you will put into maintenance and repairs. at least it did in my case.

Well, I am hoping the sway bars and bushings restore the handling, to its previous, tight, typical BMW feel. I enjoy it alot, but have also wanted some more HP to match up against newer models. The Valentine 1 gets a daily workout...
