Hi guys,

I recently swapped my idrive controller for a similar unit with the ceramic finish.
Installation was plug and play and everything works as it should.
Also replaced the HVAC and radio buttons (opened the unit and swapped buttons).

ISTA/D now complains that the CON modules (controller) does not match the car VIN.
Would like to clear this error, but have no clue how to fix this.

What is the best way to resolve this?
cheers

What controller did you go for? Could you get the part number from the controller? Thanks.

The new ceramic one has the code:
6582 928709-01
B0609827

the old non-ceramic one has
6582 9286707-01
B0773567

Well, I just installed my 6WB cluster I got back from a local tach-repair shop to 'virginize' the EEPROM on is, and added it to the FA.

The cluster works great (no red tamper dot) and as an extra bonus, the CON error is gone in ISTA/D !

Maybe it somehow re-initialized after adding the 6WB to the FA.

Will check again tomorrow if the error is really permanently gone.
6WB cluster is great BTW :)

Can you ask your technician how he made the CON error to dissappear ?
