As for the software, that's easy too. You have your PM disabled though, so shoot me a PM when you can send and receive PM's.

 

I tried to put in more tutorial was unable, saved the FA made the issue then rescued did the procedure of "upload" followed all the steps including the steps appeared on the iDrive bluetooth option but not allowed to enter, sent consult the manual manufactures, remembering that I did not find the CMB_MEDIA does not have that car, any suggestions?

 

Enhanced Bluetooth 2014 i3

I have managed to code the following:
Office Menu enabled
Text Sending with speech to text
Changed REX to come in at 12%
REX menu enabled

The problem is with bluetooth streaming, I have added 6NS (not sure if I need to with the i3) and already had HU_NBT.
I now see 4 options when I go into configure Bluetooth (Telephone1, Telephone2, Audio & Office) but when I go to the actual phone (Galaxy S5) i only can choose Telephone 1, 2 or Audio).
Text messages read and can send, but when I go to bluetooth audio streaming, I have no options to search and choose the music and only get previous and next buttons - any ideas?

Have you tried to select the external device from the ConnectedDrive menu and select your phone. This is under the media tab. That should then stream Bluetooth music.

Yes, I can stream that way, but don't have the ability to browse the media, search or see album art...

Please help, I wanted to get EBT working on my F32 (July 2014) but cannot connect the phone through bluetooth anymore after VO coding.

What I have done successfully:

Step 1. Change FA from 6NH to 6NS
Step 2. VO Code Head Unit (HU_ENTRY) and standalone Combox (CMB_MEDIA)

No error message, the last step with ECU coding of the two units went well, all in green.

After this, I deleted the bluetooth synch to my mobile, I have turned the car off and on again. I tried to synch my mobile to the car but it does not work: the mobile can see the car's bluetooth number but it cannot connect, i.e. I never get the pin code on the mobile what I should enter in the car. After a number of attempts and timeouts I see no way out.

As an effect of the change, I can listen music through the iPhone (5) white cable, and I can see album artwork - this was not possible before. This means the software update did happened but I cannot recover the bluetooth conection.

Any suggestion? How can I pair now the car with the mobile? Please advise...

... problem magically solved! The bluetooth authentication works if I type 0-1-2-3-4-5 in the car during the pairing process. As a response, the iPhone pups-up a dial page where the same code must be entered, e voila, the connection works immediately.

I think the car software has a bug in the configuration which I ended up. This pairing looks like a fallback solution for cases where the standard protocol fails.

 

I have a 2015 F32 (428i) and the only packages I have are lighting, cold weather and premium but bluetooth audio streaming works by default. I wanted to code this in hopes of being able to read text messages on the screen but it looks like i don't have CMB_MEDIA. Anybody know if I would have a combox? When I lookup my VIN, I do have 6NH. Thanks!

 

Is your Head Unit HU_ENTRYNAV?

Yes, I am pretty sure I saw HU_ENTRYNAV on the SVT

Combox functions are built into HU_ENTRYNAV. You should be able to change 6NH to 6NS and code it for EBT.

 

I know this is a long shot but is it possible for me to enable navigation since I have ENTRYNAV? Also, what about video playback through USB? Thanks!

 

Not easily. For Navigation, you would need Navigation FSC Enabling Codes issued by BMW AG for your VIN, which must be Imported and Activated in Head Unit, then coding for 606 Business Navigation, and then Map loaded. I don't know either if you have proper Screen for the Navigation.

I do not think ENTRYNAV supports USB Video.

You give up too easy. Some Head Units have Combox built into them.

 

Oh OK. So I guess the only way of knowing for sure is to get the cable, run ESys and see what it says?

 

That is the definitive way to verify Standalone Combox, or Head Unit Type.

Looks like I have a CIC iDrive - bimmertech have told me that I won't be able to do the enhanced Bluetooth activation. Do you agree Shawn?

 

Well, Bimmer-Tech is a respected authority on this stuff, so I don't doubt anything they said, although there must be more to the story. CIC is not a limitation to Enhanced Bluetooth. If car has CIC and Combox (fatory or retofitted), it can have EBT. My 2011 F10 has CIC, Combox and Enhanced Bluetooth, all from the factory.

 

I have a 435 with combox and looking to code the enhanced BT option. Is there any chance I could have a PM too as I've been bouncing around the web looking for it.

Assuming you bought an ENET Cable, your OBDII port is under Driver's side Dash in Footwell near Hood Release.

I have a 2012 328i F30 with CIC and the Tech Package / Nav. I was able to successfully code enhanced bluetooth by changing FA from 6NH to 6NS and then VO coding HU_CIC and CMB_MEDIA. The good news is that I can now stream audio from my iPhone via enhanced bluetooth. However, I am not getting any album artwork via enhanced bluetooth. I've searched through multiple threads and it seems that some are getting album artwork and others are not. Does anyone know if enabling album artwork is possible on CIC with my configuration? If so, any guidance on how to code the ability to see album artwork will be greatly appreciated.

Bluetooth Album Art is not possible with CIC. You must have newer NBT.
