Hello,
Does anyone know what are the codes needed to add with esys to retrofit Harman Kardon in a car with the base audio (no hifi)?

Also, will I need to flash the Harman Kardon module?

I am planning to retrofit HK in a (i01) i3s 2019.

My car vin is WBY8P610X07D23769

Thank you all for your help.

J

The unit might need flashing if it has some different files. But coding alone should work. Flashing is recommended.
When I did a TAL calculation on F48, the SWFL didnt change so I don’t think it needs flashing for EntryNav2

Otherwise it’s only 1 FDL change:

AUDIO_SYSTEM: hifi_system_harmankardon (06)

Yes but ISTA keeps saying the HK is not coded to the vehicle.

At the moment the HK is working as supposed to. So I will not try to fix this.

Yesterday I went to the dealer to get some screws and they said that this car had already being retrofitted with HK.

I was really curious since that is the retrofit I am doing and it's not finished yet... so how/why they have it already in the system like that??

It was probably someone in the shop last time I took the car to the dealer to complain about unrelated stuff, that saw the a pillar tweeters and assumed someone did the retrofit... lol

Anyway... what I mean is: next time the car goes for a service I expect they fix it automatically on the next software update.

Did you VO-code it?

My retrofitted equipment is showing on BMW servers: I suspect as soon you add it to the FA.xml and write to the vehicle it get’s uploaded to BMW through connected drive if you write it to VCM / MSM with e-sys

I FA/VO coded it using esys and an updated psdzdata.

I think your list is only the options your car had when it came from the factory. The dealer has that list plus some new entries that refer to retrofits done at a later date.

Probably it is as you say. But my esys pc has no internet connection. So it would be the car doing that reporting to bmw...

Anyway, in my f31 I retrofitted a rear view camera (oem) and folding mirrors (oem). I asked the dealer guy to also check that car to see if those retrofits were also updated in the bmw list.

He said that the rear view camera was added. But the rear view mirrors were not.

The procedure was the same in both retrofits: VO code to add a new salapa element.

Since one was in the bmw server and the other was not, I assume it was a manual entry by some mechanic while the car was being serviced in the dealer. Probably they noticed the rear view camera and not the power folding mirrors?!

Anyway, when I bought the f31 (used from dealer bmw premium selection) they told me it was impossible to install the folding mirrors... but the camera was possible. So the system could just assume that folding mirrors is not a viable option to retrofit and so it doesnt add it automatically... no idea... if its automatically reported or a manual mechanic entry... these are just hypothesis...

the dealer says none of the retrofits I did were possible. Above screenshot is from my car on which I did all the retrofit work and somehow it ended up on BMW-servers :) I am pretty sure it’s not manual entry. 205 and 507 was also removed from the list on the left ;)

Do you have the update MSM/VCM boxes thicked in e-sys?
