1. Software Overview and Requirements:

This guide serves Fxx, Ixx, and Gxx-series vehicles. For E-series, different software and cable are used. Complete Software & Interface Overview.

Prerequisites:
  • Windows 7+ Computer.
  • E-Sys = Main Coding Software
  • PSdZData Lite(~2.5 GB) = ECU Data Files. Works for VO & FDL Coding.
  • Bimmer Utility = Provides License (ie Activation), FDL-Coding mapping, Cheat Codes (Section 7), & other optimization.
  • Connection Interface = ENET Cable (OBDII to RJ45 Ethernet) or ICOM. For computers without an ethernet port, you can use USB-to-ethernet adapters


2. Software Installation:

NOTE: Links never change. The latest versions are usually found below.
  • Add a comment to the thread if links down or you need newer versions
E-Sys - Install Instructions - v.15.pdf (Guide courtesy of member Shawnsheridan)

Bimmer Utility - Mapping 4.35.42 - Only and recommended solution
  • Auto-updated and supports the latest mapping for the most accurate coding experience
    • Purchase directly from the developer's website.
  • E-sys 3.39.1 - Used with Bimmer Utility or alone for Programming and VO coding.

Latest PSdZData_Lite (~2.5 GB) WORKS FOR ALL FDL CODING & VO CODING
  • Use this guide to determine your I-Step.
  • You only need one lite version for coding that is equal to or greater than your I-Step.
    • NOTE: If you get a "Not Found [C012]" error when "Read Coding Data," it is time to update.
  • Do NOT merge. DELETE old PSdZData folder & REPLACE w/ new PSdZData folder.


By Resource:
  1. NCD / CAFD: Read *.ncd files offline and easily search for a function, viewing current settings as well as other options
  2. NCD Compare: Load *.ncd files using Folder icons or drag & drop and then the far right button initiates compare. Popup showing Left vs right values which you can highlight and copy if you choose. It also highlights *.ncd trees differences in red & you can scroll up and down.
  3. Decrypt CAFD: not just for CFDs. It also works for other Psdzdata files (eg FAFP).
  4. FA / FP: viewer; tool includes mapping (eg 430 Inter Exter mirror anti dazzle). You can search loaded FA or entire FAFP (ie available options). FP viewer allows you to view options by Vehicle Profile (FP) without loading FA (Vehicle Order).
  5. FA Compare: like #2, but comparing fas.
  6. FA-CAFD: You load individual ECUs *.ncd and can see how FA additions will affect (ie "what-if).
  7. SVT-CAFD: You load the entire saved SVT file and see how FA changes will affect (ie "what-if).

Uninstall one version and install new version. It will not affect data folder.

No advantage to using newer versions and 3.27 is error free for using External Transmitter, injecting CAFD, and Coding-Verification.

Individually, they can be valid SALAPA, but as a whole there can still be incompatibilities.

E-Sys 3.27.1 is trouble free, and works with latest PSdZData.

No need. Launcher PREMIUM 2.8 supposerts E-Sys 3.24.x. Until If and when car is programmed be dealership, you have no need to udpate.

Hi,
I have a 2010 550i GT and need to replace the crankcase hoses. I would like to do it myself and since I couldn't find instructions or Video on YouTube I ask that if you guys know where to get the TIS for that car I'd really appreciate it.
I also want to replace the wheel bearings and the air suspension in the rear.

Hey, guys, I have a question regarding the extraction of the full psdzdata set:

Once I downloaded all the compressed files, do I need to extract the rar files one by one or is there a way to have the extracted to the same folder automatically?

I tried to extract the second one but I got a warning asking me if I want to overwrite the folders. There are folders with same names from the different files so I am not sure if the latter ones will overwrite the previous ones or just combining the contents.

With a multi-part archive (.rar, .zip. .7z, etc.) you always download all parts to same folder, and then open and extract ONLY part1.rar. All parts will be processed automatically.

Use latest. PM sent.

Trimmed PSdZData means either E-Sys has Incorrect Target Connection, or you do not use E-Sys Launcher to open E-Sys, or you use E-Sys Launcher PREMIUM but select wrong car Series or this particular ECU CAFD is not mapped in E-Sys Launcher's CAFD Mapping Database.

You can't use E-Sys 3.31.x with Launcher PREMIUM 2.8. Use older E-Sys version, preferably 3.27.1.

Hi All,

I have a F30 2013. I have coded my car three years ago(2015) with following software. I didn't open it for 3 years.

E-sys 3.26.1
PsdZ 5.00.01
E-sys Launcher Premium V2.0.7.54

I went to car service to code something yesterday. But they deleted my rem which is set before config. Becuase of this my rear brake and reverse led are flasing every minute :). So I want to set again REM code with E-sys. I tryied open E-sys Launcher Premium and asked me

- Path and PIN- Confirm. I filled and pressed Generate Token then generated TOKEN but asked again Path and PIN- Confirm.

What should I do to open E-sys to coode? Should I install again all software with latest version or no need?

Pls support me to solve it.

It is asking over and over again because you are generated expired Token, You must install latest software if you wish to code. Links in OP.

Is the new ESYS Premium Launcher 2.8 crashing for anyone else? I'm running Windows 7 on a Mac (VMWARE) but each time I try and open the launcher it immediately crashes. I've attempted to uninstall/reinstall all the software but the problem persists. Any help would be much appreciated.

Can you launch E-sys directly?

Did you check Windows Event viewer?

Hi I used to code my f20 with succes, but it goes to bmw for a problem and they update
now I am on f20-17-11-540.

I downloaded esys 3.31 and pszd 63, but it does not connect anymore

Kiss connection errror at startup and when i try to connect the list with all model is not populated. What Am i doing wrong ?
