Folks,
I have a peculiar problem (325xi - 2004)
On the first start of the day (irrespective of the outside temperature), there is a slight hesitation (as though its not getting enough gas) for about a second and then the engine fires up.
The hesitation is accompanied by slight shaking of the engine too.

The rest of the day, it starts up just fine. No problem with idling or accelaration.

The car is at the service center now, they flushed the fuel injector, changed the VANOS and checked the valves. No luck yet..

Any idea what could be wrong? Any help is much appreciated

I had a problem like that but it hesitated for more than a second, maybe 15-20 seconds, and only on the first start of the day. Turned out to be the air mass meter unfortunately. Dealer said the best way to test it was to put a known good one on as installation is super simple.
