2016 BMW pricing and ordering guides

Bimmerfest.com brings you the 2016 model year (MY) BMW pricing and ordering guides. Use the guides to assist all of you in preparing your orders for the new model year. Once you have your order figured out post what you're getting.

The BMW model year start of production (SOP) and end of production (EOP) schedule is also available for you

2016 BMW Production SOP & EOP Schedule

* New body style non HEA SOP column is for Handler-Erst-Ausstattung production vehicles. These are dealer demo cars. Production cars available for order start the following month.

BMW Invoice and European Delivery Pricing
BMW invoice and European Delivery pricing sheets are no longer in wide circulation because of BMW's lawyers. Thankfully the calculations are very simple and get you with in a few dollars of the exact pricing.

BMW Invoice Pricing calculation
Base MSRP (from pricing sheets below) multiplied by 0.92
+ Option and packages (anything you can add to the vehicle) multiplied by 0.91
+ Training fee of $180.00
+ MACO fee $500.00 (now a flat rate applied to all dealers)
+ Destination and handling charge - Currently $995
= US BMW invoice price +/- $10.00

BMW European Delivery Invoice Pricing calculation
Base (no options) US MSRP (from pricing sheets below) multiplied by 0.95 to get the base ED price (ED discount reduced from 7% to 5% for 2016)
Base ED pricing multiplied by 0.92 to get the base ED invoice price
+ $475 fee (it is unknown at this time what this fee is for, this is a change for 2016)
+ Option and packages (anything you can add to the vehicle) multiplied by 0.91
+ Destination and handling charge - Currently $995
= BMW European Delivery invoice price +/- $10.00

NEWS: BMW ED pricing discount reduced from 7% to 5% starting January 2016

Any idea when SOP for the 2016 will be?

First post here. I had planned to do ED of a '15 M3 but can't get anytime off until Sept. at least. That being the case, I plan to get a '16. Is there a general relationship between SOP for a model & lead time for ordering it. I'm still planning to do ED.
Thanks

I don't post over here usually. I'm somewhat in the same situation as you. Doing an August ED on a 2016 M4. I have my order in already based on a 2015 M4, but BMW can't confirm a delivery date yet. It doesn't make sense to me, but whatever. I did hear a rumor that the 2016 info would be out by the end of April. My 2015 order will be switched over to a 2016 and adjusted for any price increase or option changes if anything is different from 2015.

Makes complete sense, since SOP (start of production) has not started, once SOP starts then orders will be placed in the system, I'm in the same boat as you.

The 2015 ordering/pricing guides came out in late May last year for the 3 series so I would guess it would be the same for the 2016 3 series. End of production is in June this year with start of 2016 production in July.

Any expectation for 2016 F32, dates for ordering/pricing guides, and the start for production? Thanks
We should get the pricing/order guides later this month I would think. Start of production is July 2015 for MY 2016 F32 models.

X1

The SOP schedule lists the X1 (F48) Xdrive as starting 7/15, but in column "new body style non hea sop" it says 8/15. What does non hea sop mean?

HEA models are the dealer demos basically. So the soonest you could order a car for production is 8/15.

I expect to be at BMW Welt end of August for ED on a 2016 F 30 (will order as soon as pricing is out), so it looks like chances are good to see the new X1

I read recently on a couple of German websites that the new X1 won't be publicly revealed until the Frankfurt show in late September. It seems strange that production would begin months before the reveal -- the current X1 was revealed at Frankfurt in 2009 but production didn't start until the following month. This is driving me crazy as I'm planning on going to the Frankfurt show and would like to do a European Delivery of a new X1 on the same trip. I'd think if production of ordered cars starts in August this ought to be possible, but nothing's known for sure until the ordering guides are out. Any idea when this might happen?

I do not fully understand the 8/15 order date for the X1, when production starts on 7/15 (Maybe Tim could explain). Usually the order guides are out a few months before SOP and an ED order can then be placed.

BMW has in the past launched models before their auto show debut. The F30 was well into production by the time it was shown off at the auto show. They did a non-auto show world debut, plus a later auto show world debut. Order and pricing guides for the US will be available about a month an a half before the car starts production, in this case I would think that would be around June. We should also see guides for the dealer HEA models very soon as well.

HEA models, which are dealer demos, starts 7/15. Cars for delivery to customer start 8/15. Typically the first few weeks of production are not open to US ordering so it could be as late as the end of August that you could place an order for an X1. ED can be even longer lead times.

Tim,

Did BMW do away with the competition package on the 2016 M6? It doesn't show up on BMW USA website and I noticed that it's not listed in the pricing and ordering guide you posted above either. They describe the standard engine as 560hp but on the specs page it's shown as 552hp.

So the 2016 M6 has a maximum of 552hp and will do 0-60mph in 4.1 sec but the 2016 Alpina B6 has 600hp and will do 0-60mph in 3.6 sec. That's interesting.

Also, I noticed that BMW USA now shows frozen brilliant white metallic as a $3,600 individual option, same price as frozen bronze.

It does look like that was removed, not sure why. I don't remember seeing anything in the production planning docs that would indicate it was being removed. Very strange.

Curious if it is a typo regarding the SOP & EOP for the F85 & F86? 08/15 thur 07/16 = 12 months, but it is listed as 8 months in production. The appropriate time frame (months) is listed for the non-M X5/X6 models.
