My 1995 325is I just purchased has a loose female connector on the driver's side of the transmission housing. It has two leads, one brown the other white with blue stripe. These wires follow along the trans harness from the engine compartment till about half along the trans. It is not wrapped in with the trans harness but zip tied. There is no loose male connector anywhere near this point. I don't see any other loose connection. Any ideas what this cable is for? I've attached pics for reference. Thanks.

according to Bentley it should be the solenoid valve (running losses) (1995 only) which means it should be up in the engine compartment, not tucked up on the tranny.

You have been a big help. I have not been able to find this connector in the wiring diagram I have. Perhaps you could upload a scan of the page you are referring to. Thanks.
