I just found out something pretty cool. I've been having problems finding out where my car is. It was produced feb 14th and owners circle web site says it's still not shipped. I called the BMW 800 number as early as today and they say the same thing, its not shipped.

I did some web surfing and found this web site for the shipp company
http://schedule.2wglobal.com/GLWebApps.AppTracking

There is a box on the page, enter your VIN number where it says "cargo ID" and it will tell you if your vehicle is on one of their ships. I entered mine and it says my car was loaded on the "Hudson Leader" on 3-8 and is on the way. The only problem is that the car is bound for Charlotte NC and that ship only goes to NY then Baltimore so I think they put it on the wrong boat. Charlotte deliveries are supposed to go to the Charleston port I thought. But I'm happy that it's at least on a ship and heading west!!

wow, thats a cool site. however, I put in my car's VIN but it says its not a valid cargo id. I assume you put it under the auto option in the drop down? is there certain numbers you have to omit from the VIN? :dunno:

Same here. My VIN didn't work. I think I read somewhere that it can take some time for the Wallenius Wilhelmson DB to be updated. My car just shipped out on the Traviata on Thursday. Maybe it will work in a few days. :dunno:

You picking yours up next saturday? Are you getting any track time down at the performance center?

Make sure to give us a full report when you get back!
Actually, I go down Thursday night and take delivery on Friday. In a nutshell, from what I've been told, they show you your car but you don't get to drive it till later. Then comes the mini driving techniques school where I'll face the slalom, skidpad, waterwall, and some track time.

After that is lunch followed by a factory tour and some other stuff. Probably by about 4:00pm, I should be free! My girlfriend will be on camera/video duty, so if all goes well, I should have all kinds of goodies when we get back. :thumb: :thumb:

Just click on "auto" then input your entire VIN number. I didnt leave any didgets out. I think the site was down this morning because I tried it and nothing happened. Just tried it a few minutes ago and it worked, gave all the info on my shipment.
When you click on "track" it takes about a minute to load, guess it has to search its data base which takes some time.

Give it another try, it should work now.

after it gives you your info, you can click on the voyage number and it will tell you all the stops the ship makes enroute. Its pretty cool. BMW web site still says my car is "awaiting shipment" so they are apparently way behind since it was shipped on the 8th.

Still nothing. I'll give it a few days and if my car isn't on the Traviata I will call and demand that it turn around and pick up my car. :D

Sounds reasonable to me. Or perhaps they could drop anchor mid ocean and wait for a fast boat to deliver it!

When you try putting in your vin number, dont do anything with the drop down menu. Just click on auto and let the other page come up, then enter your entire vin number and click track. It will take a minute or two for the info to pop up.

Their data base seems more up to date then the BMW owners club info... mine's been on the boat 9 days and owners club still says its "awaiting shipment"

BMW OC shows mine as "In Transit to Processing Center" and showed that pretty promptly.

I think they need to activate the Nav System on all the cars with them, and add a GPS to those without Nav, and allow real time Internet tracking so we can see where on the Earth our new BMWs are. Wouldn't that be cool. :thumb:

I tried entering my VIN again and I keep getting a message saying that it is an invalid cargo ID. The little pop up window says acceptable digits are A-Z, 0-9, etc.. Anyone else getting this? I think my car is supposed to be loaded 3/19 and shipped. Anyone else on that boat? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

I'm getting the same thing. My Bill of Lading and VIN won't work. I called BMWNA to make sure my car is on the boat and they feel confident it is. We'll see on the 29th. :dunno:

Still no luck. BMWNA says my car is on the Traviata and gave me a Bill of Lading #. I try to track it @ http://schedule.2wglobal.com/GLWebApps.AppTracking using both Bill of Lading and Auto (using VIN) but both come back saying no information available.

Is anyone else having this problem? I'm afraid my car didn't make the boat. :dunno:

BMWNA wasn't much help other than to say that they have the Bill of Lading #.

I'm freakin' out! Time is slowing down as I approach my delivery date and now my car is nowhere to be found!!!

Ed,

Are you still stuck at 193? How long has it been that status. 193 was the longest wait so far but 195 will be about 14 days (sailing the high seas). Your wait must be excruciating since yo have an M3 on order. :thumb:

I just vented all this in the M3 forum. It's been 9 days so far. But I know that 3 boats have left since arriving at the port of exit. Grrr. I thought I was fine with the wait, but once production started, I've been on edge! I keep calling BMW to see if maybe, just maybe my status has changed. Nope.
