Going to order a 2017 X5. I haven't seen much information about what cosmetic changes there are to the outside or inside from the 2016. I have all of the ordering information, but would like to figure out what else has changed.

If you are questioning if there was a refresh in 2017 then the answer is no. Only a few minor changes (iDrive and wireless charging, etc.).

Thanks for the reply. I know that there isn't a refresh, but was wondering about any minor changes. I've not seen any 2017 exterior or interior pictures. For instance, will the grill be black the M Sport package?

I know there is a new color available that was not available previously, and that the new color is also available in the M sport trim (Atlas cedar metallic I think its called). Its in the metallic grey family with some undertones of green / brown. I really liked the sample I saw online, and would probably order that color if I was getting a 2017 just to have something different from the million White x5 M sport models.

I dont know about any other minor cosmetic styling. There might be a document somewhere that a client advisor has, but BMW will be heavily pushing the 2016s (and is supporting those better from a lease perspective with increased residuals).

The new 2017s will have apple car play available for an extra charge, and have the new iDrive 5.0 interface along with the faster nav, and over the air map updates. OTA map updates are already available on some BMWs (235s, 4 series, and 7s), and will be moving up and down the line as the cars are coming out. I would imagine all 2017s will have OTA map updates but not all may have idrive 5.0 and wireless charging / wireless access to BMW apps.

I am hoping that those of us with the NBT in our x5s will be able to code having the idrive 5.0 and maybe even some of the other things, but we do not know how different everything is going to be as of yet. the nav hardware is still the NBT, but we dont know if there are different Bluetooth modules etc, or its really just turning on features via coding.
