My '01 4.4 started squeaking/creaking on the left rear side yesterday. it makes the noise when someone gets on/off the car from the side and when i go over bumps and generally when weight shifts on/off the left rear wheel.

my novice instinct tells me it's the shock. how far off am i, do you guys think? is this something i need to take to the stlr or can i go to my mechanic who fixes my accord and just get him to use good parts, maybe bmw oems? i am just waiting since it's the weekend to take it to someone.

had same exact issue on my front end that turned out to be a sway bar being very loose. Don't know if there is a similar sway bar in the rear...

maybe the spring pad fell off the spring coil causing the spring coil to off track and rubs against body part, located on top of upper control arm.
