Well I spend 3 hours this weekend washing, cleaning, polishing and waxing my silver Tacoma.

End result...looks about the same as when I started:cry:

I bought the silver because it would hide the dirt and I could focus my cleaning attention (OCD) on the black car....I guess the flip side is that a beautiful detail job doesn't look as stunning in silver as it does in black....

Oh well....

**Don't get me wrong. I love silver, and for a while that was my first choice for the Bimmer**

So my Griots detailing kit and PC orital is all going to be a big waste of time, money and effort? :yikes:
Not at all. You gotta remember that what took my 3 hours with the DA buffer would have taken 5 hours by hand and another hour with a massuse to massage the aching muscles!

The net result is the finish on my Toy is slick as glass and protected from the elements. It just doesn't have the same shine as a black car!

Of course the fruits of detailing labor only last 10 minutes with a black car becuase the dirt settles so quick!

Having a silver car is not such a bad thing.. It may not give the deep reflections that a darker color would but it is much easier to take care of and maintain. Darker cars show swirl marks very easily and they show dirt/dust the minute you pull out of your driveway. For these are the reasons I love my color choice.

Totally agree, that's why when I bought my truck I wanted either silver or white. I ended up with silver becuase I have had white cars before.

Wanted something that would be easy to keep clean, and look good! I almost bought a silver bimmer, but black was calling my name!:thumb:

Someone said unrewarding??

Attached are pictures of my 98 528i...P21S applied about 3 weeks ago, was just driven about 200 miles before this pic was taken. It started raining just as I pulled in to the garage, so the car isn't super clean, but...

Pic #1 (193K, 512x384, Flash)

Pic #2 (191K, 512x384, No Flash)

Perhaps they're not the greatest pics, but man, I love that P21S...
