I worked at a Saab garage and drove a 2.0turbo saab 93 but was sick and tired of the fuel consumption and never really liked the look of the car much so sold it and and payed 2.500 for a bmw 318is coupe in somoa blue in mint condition, everyone at work was saying i payed to much and was no where near as fast as the saab which was 150bhp but i never bought it for speed just for the cruising and look of the car. Did i pay over the top, the milage on the car was 90000miles?

That sounds about right if you look on autotrader at 318is cars that have done about 90k. You might have paid 500 over, but if it really is mint, I don't think you've had a bad deal.

If it's in mint condition like you say, $2500 is actually a reasonable price. Not great, not bad!
It's $5000 to you! $2500 for that car would be ridiculous, that's just 1250 quid, which over here would buy a 95 318is with 140k on the clock

Yeah but what did your car have wrong with it, that sounds cheap compared to other adverts. Maybe you got a good deal because the seller had no idea what their car was worth?

Hmm...makes me wonder:

Did I pay too much for my car?

I paid $5400 for my 95 325IS Auto with 106k miles. Good condition. ABS problem needs fixing.

Brett, none of us from the US are qualified to answer, as our markets are different. However, at current exchange rates that puts it about 4800 USD. In the San Francisco area, if it was mint, then its on the high side. In mediocre condition, you way overpaid. What year is it? That has some to do with it as well.

Toth, nah. You're doing fine. With that mileage I think you're OK. Unless the ABS is major. If its a wheel speed sensor, no prob. If its in the brain of the ABS module or something more complicated, you may have gotten a bad deal, but not terribly.
