Hi all,

New to the forums here. I picked up my X1 xdrive35i a few months ago, and have been enjoying it immensely. I traded in my EVO X GSR with 340 awhp for my X1, and I somewhat miss the additional torque and acceleration.

I want to keep my car stock for now in terms of bolt-ons, but I've been thinking of tuning the engine. From your experience on the X1, how does the Dinan Stage 2 measure up to the BMS JB4 stage 2?

The issue of warranty voiding usually is beaten to death; but my dealership has a good working relationship with Dinan and so I don't foresee any issues if something should up.

I would love to hear your personal experience with tuning your X1s!

Good question, since your X1 shares the same engine as the 335i I would post on that forum... I don't think anyone here has gone with either tune in an X35i yet, or at least hasn't shared.

We have the BMS stage 1 for the N20 engine and love it.

Thank you Grey. I'll seen the other write ups for the N55 engine, but wanted to see how it would hold up with the X1 specifically. I'll check it out though, thanks again

My understanding is that it's the same engine and transmission so you should be good... But the Dinan folks will know best.

You are aware that the BMS tune WILL void your warranty, while the Dinan will most likely NOT, right? Hence the huge price difference between the 2.

I had the JB4 STG 2 and it's different car with that tune the JB4 is really the best bang for the buck. I had to return mine because I didnt like the installation. As soon as COBB comes out with the tune to work with JB4 I will be buying it. I have eye'd the DINIAN tune but 2k is pricey.... though you they supposedly will warrant any damage but I would be cautious about that as i have sene similar threads about people running into big issues when it happens.

Let us know what you decide with.
