This is my first (and hopefully last) entry into the dirtiest E46 competition. The picture was actually taken on a comparitively dry and clean day too. Some of the steel from the World Trade Center can be seen behind my car.

As far as I know, mine is the only BMW to drive on the WTC site. If I lose the 'competition', I want an honorable mention for having the only car that's been through the EPA's washdown station --- where they try to make sure we don't track any asbestos off site.

Now, if I can only con Jon into some round trip tickets to CA for Bimmerfest West!

Was the EPA's wash-down station brushless? Did they use 100%pure terry cloth towels (with no polyester stitches)?

Weren't you concerned about puncturing a tire with a nail (or something even worse)? Or were you looking for an excuse to upgrade your stock (Conti?) tires to Sumo's and have the company pay for it?!

The EPA's washdown station

Believe it or not, the EPA's station is 'touchless' --- except on the wheels and tires. They have guys in tivek (sp?) suits with scrub-brushes who do a thorough job on the tires and wheels. They use high pressure water for everything else. The price is nice --- free. The water goes into a 'collection pit' and is then treated as hazzardous waste.

All in all, it's looks rather like what one would imagine getting your car washed on the moon (or the X-files) would be like.

I hadn't thought about the opportunity to get rid of the Conti's. Problem is, the company wouldn't help either --- as we're all volunteer workers from the Structural Engineers Association of New York (SEAoNY).

My 'car-guilt' caught up with me this past weekend --- so I put a new coat of Zymol on the bugger.

Good on you for doing the 'volunteer thing' and helping out at the WTC--we all really appreciate it!!

I would, but I can't remember where our personal webspace was located (vinto...something?). My dirty car picture is there.
It can be accessed by linking to http://www.bimmerfest.com/members/$name, where $name is the username you signed up under. You'll also need to include the path to the image after your username.
