Disable the beeping alarms?

1850 Views 7 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  Mystikal
Hi everybody,
Is there an easy way to disable the beeping “you don’t have your seatbelt on” alarm? The reason I don’t like this feature is that I prefer to start my car then put on the belt. It’s easier than putting the key in the ignition with my right hand then reaching for the seatbelt with my right hand and finally starting the car after the belt is secured. If I lost the “lights on” warning by disabling the beeping that would be fine. The battery would be safe because the headlights go out when the ignition is turned off anyway. I hated the “it’s below 37 degrees” beeping so much on my 1999 328 that I purposely got my 2001 325 without the OBC.
Thanks.

Do you throw your microwave through the kitchen window when it beeps to tell you your food is ready?? How do you react when the elevator gets to your floor?

It's a friendly "beep beep beep beep" "beep beep beep beep"
"beep beep beep beep" not some alarm clock-type sound.

What's the big deal?

I just don't like it. I don't mind the microwave and the elevator.

Well, it I recall correctly, the speaker is attached to the panel that is above the driver's pedals. Remove the panel, unplug the speaker and put the panel back. Should take no more than 5 minutes.
Thanks, I'll check it out:)
