There's a way to bypass EWS by snipping the right wires. I'm not sure exactly how to do it but if you do some searching I'm sure you'll find it. It's a common issue that people run into.

If your car was produced after 1st Jan 1995 it has EWS which needs to be alligned (coded) to replacement DME. Period.

Well I have a dinan chip in mine now..my was made 8/95.... I found a thread that day just cut the wire in the engine compartment by the fuse box..it's number 7....that's how you bypass the ews!!
