So i been curious about this and deciede to take mines out to do the water over flow fix..

once i took it out i notice some junkyard numbers say in "95 bmw 525i" its a red label, im wondering would this caused some issues i been having like: im unable to pull up abs codes or srs codes even tho i have these lights on my dash present..

i use snap-on lastest scanner that connects in the engine bay port, the scanner tells me "no communication". But i CAN pull up check engine codes.... also with this cause running issues as well.... my car is an 1994 325is

The scanner you were trying to use is for OBD2 systems. Yours is an OBDI, as are all of them until 1996. You're no likely to find an OBDI scanner outside an independent shop or a BMW dealership's shop.

its snap-on solus pro system it cost me two arms and a leg (idk if its the lastest) but its works for obd0-1-2.. its has bmw plug is connects to the engine ports so it doesnt matter the year of the vehicle as long its 92 and up.... any issue with running a 1995 525i DME?

It's been running with it before, right? If it's the same part number as the original and label color, it doesn't matter what the junkyard wrote on it. You need to plug the last 7 digits of your VIN into realoem.com to get the part number of the original DME to compare with what you have now.

I believe your Snap-on scanner needs some add-ons to read all the BMW error codes.

correct, ken. the solus is a terrific unit, although incomplete for euro applications. that will cost the remaining leg, as well as your left lung and clavical.

as for the regular engine management data, you should be able to see that with the scanner. just not any other systems.

snap on is good for that, as are the other big 3 tool truck companies. always an add on upgrade necessary for 'complete' diagnostics.
