Here's the deal. Since I am on my 3rd E70, I "may" have some knowledge that can help folks out. Like the guy on the other thread who was looking for the proper torque for his lug nuts and apparently didn't know there was a PDF version of the owner's manual. (He didn't want to walk 5 blocks to his garage to check the paper manual, which raises the interesting question of how he was going to operate his torque wrench from 5 blocks away. Whatever).
When AutoUnion, ard, I or anyone else posts to a thread, we are "subscribed". That means we get an email whenever there is a new post. Most of the time, that's a good thing, because if someone we are trying to help says "I didn't understand your answer, could you elaborate?" we can get right back to the guy while he is still online.
Sometimes, subscribing is very frustrating. E.g. when an OP comes back on the thread and states the same thing (vaguely) over and over and over again, we get email after email. I guess one solution is never to post, which means not downloading any of the information we've accumulated over many years of ownership. Is that productive? Another solution is to never subscribe to a thread, just lob out info, ride off into the sunset and let folks sort it out on their own. A third solution is to keep on keeping on and flame the occasional d-bag with 3 posts who doesn't get it. Sorry you don't like my choice. Maybe I will reconsider it and go with Door #1 or Door #2 instead.
