Justlike to confirm that the procedure for removing interior door panels on an E39 525 diesel year 2000. Do I need to worry about side air bags?

yes and no. yes, you can just pop the panel off after you unscrew them and then unplug the airbags HOWEVER make sure the airbag plugs are plugged in before you even do anything with the ignition or else you'll get a code which would require a trip to the dealer.csturnbull said:Justlike to confirm that the procedure for removing interior door panels on an E39 525 diesel year 2000. Many thanks.chivas said:one more thing, unplug the negative cable before anything just incase. and if you have nav, wait 2 minutes after turning off the car (key in your pocket) for the nav to power down.
