Hello All,

My drivers door no longer opens correctly.
If I simply pull on the handle the door mechanism does not release.
I must now push the door in and while doing so... pull on the handle .... and the door then opens.

I know little about the inner assembly/workings of the door mechanism.

Any suggestions/fixes?

Thanking you all in adance

Peace,
D

Try a "smear" of grease on the striker pin (doorjamb).

Screawed

Check that all set screaws are in all the way if one backed out a little it will throw the strike off!

had the same problem too. I was going to post about it, but the mechanics fixed it during the routine inspection. Good to know some solutions for next time.

Just grease the pin and the lock and it will be fine.

This is common to just about every E36 coupe out there.
