Thanks for the reply. I went ahead and stopped wimping out and tackled it this afternoon. Turns out there was some glue or something used and adding a little extra hold on the seal, but if I pulled up on it (after removing the pin) it came out easily and then installed back in quickly. Was done with both front doors within 30 mins.
Functionally what was shown in the picture wasn't really hurting anything, but it's close to eye level and was bugging me on an otherwise clean car so I wanted to knock it out.
