Its not frozen! The little black cable is sitting in its notch and it is pulling up on the actuator. It seems that it just needs a little bit more travel before it clicks the latch. Its a 99 528IT. I have ordered a new black cable but is it possible that it has gotten streched? Could the whole actuator be bad? The door works fine from the inside, it locks fine and the child lock does what its suppose to do. The door just wont open from the outside! Its driver me nuts. Everything is seated correclty it just wont travel enough(door handle) to open. The door handle goes up all the way but the cable just does not move that final 1/4" to pop the latch. Any thoughts?

Hi, I found that I have exactly the same problem. I found a little broken piece red plasting in the bottom of the door. Did you keep your original cable and put the part you mentioned on or did you replace the cable and it came with the part.

I replaced the entire part. If you need the only the cable its like 10 bucks.
