I was having an issue with the driver seat reclining and when I took it to be fixed it appears that the frame is cracked. The fix is going to cost approximately $1800.00. So I'm kicking around the idea of putting in an aftermarket seat. So far it looks like about $1300ish to get a new one. Does anyone know of any bolt in seats? Sparco said that they have seats but I would need a custom frame. Recaro says they have a fit but it looks like it would be $1300 to put that in. Should I go aftermarket or have it fixed? The seat and interior are the hurricane stich with swede bolsters.

Sport seats? Watch ebay or hit up some junkyards for a donor seat with thrashed leather and have an upholstery shop swap your upholstery and pads over. Do the seat twist cable repair pro-actively while the seat is apart, and spend the leftover $1000+ on a billboard across the street from the shop that wanted to charge you $1800 to fix it with a picture of your extended middle digit on it.

Ya good luck finding sport seats in a junk yard. I would look around to see if you can get a better price and get them fixed.

What kind of seat costs $1800 to repair and $1300 to replace?

I was looking at Sparco and the part numbers for the replacement parts are $1600 and motor and install is going to be about 200.
