Well I guess I get to join the club....1 failed fuel injector and 5 more misfiring....all at 57k miles. Original warranty is gone, and my 3rd party exclusionary policy wont cover it as the injectors are simply clogged due to carbon build up. Issue first became apparent after the car sat out on a cold night. When started in the morning it shuttered to the point I thought it would die.

My local (independent) repair shop quoted approx 3k to replace all 8 injectors. He also said BMW has changed the injector design 6 times on the F01/F02....and constantly has cars come in with the issue. After seeing so many others with these issues, I just find it hard to believe that BMW has not recalled these injectors.

As much as I love this car, it will be my first and last bmw
The warranty I purchased specifically excludes failure due to carbon buildup...which means its probably worthless for an v8 BMW.

What reason do they have for excluding the replacement of clogged injectors? Hadn't heard of that before. It's not like it was driver negligence that caused it.

Just dropped mine off. Dealer said they may replace all of the injectors again as there's yet another serial number out, like you said. Dealer also said that the previous dealer should have changed the plugs out when they changed the injectors the last time, but since they didn't they'll probably do that as well. Was advised that they're having lots of problems with the V8 engines.
Which warranty was that? Was it through BMW?
It was a 3rd party warranty purchased through AAA, and underwritten by IWS.
