e36 restring convertible headliner

I have to try here on this and am not a usual poster. It is winter and I am fixing the headliner in my 1996 328Ic. It is a semi automatic top. Pretty straight forward and have ordered the, "dog ears" (Bavauto) and have glued them into the headliner. I am keeping the current headliner as it is in good shape and the only issue is the plastic sticky liner on the bottom (of the headliner) was failing - when I pulled the headliner - had to scrape it all off and (for me) no reason to replace the fabric - all looks good.

I glued the dog ears in and am ready to install... but for the stringing. Have not been able to find anything on how the strings go. Now to be sure - I have several online plans and have looked at them but things are not taken in a step by step manner.

The layout that I have is the strings sewn in to the edge of the headliner on each side (two each side). I don't see this as an issue, but several of the Youtube and other sites do not go over any of the restringing details especially on the sewn in. I cut the strings when I took the headliner off, then took pictures, but realized that someone was in there before me, so I want to restring as stock. I will be able to re sew the strings on once I figure the stringing layout process.

There are two screwed string ends with a grommet on each side. I need to figure how these connect with the dog ears and how the strings go through all the grommets.

My sense is that this top has a lot of extra places to string since it was made for the entire run of years - from manual to automatic. I want to see the stringing for this particular model and year. I know I am asking a lot.

If there is someone out there who has a stock convertible of the same - who can pull the top back to expose the strings and several pictures - I would appreciate it and will reciprocate in any way I can.

Thanks.

The text in the screenshot says :
"A picture of when the top is halfway in storage compartment, the only moment when it is possible to restring correctly"

Here's a detailed step by step video. If you do searched on E36 Batwing repair or restring, you should get more.
This is excellent and thanks, but I've got two areas that are sewn in so I am also looking for that process. It looks like the string will start at a sewn in area, continue through the grommets to the dog ears and possibly end at the second sewn in area. I am trying to figure this out.

Much appreciated.
