hi, the radio reception on my wife's e46 ( Am not Fm) is awful, its fine on my e39 so its not because of poor reception in the area.

I believe both antennas are built into the rear screen on both cars.

I would like to fit an external antenna on my wife's e46, maybe on the back mudguard?..
Any advice??

I have the same problem as well. And I have tried the suggestion of making sure the radio is set to USA Channels and it is. I still get very bad reception for AM channels. I live in the lower CT/NYC area with very large AM stations in this area that I can not get good reception for. But my Subaru gets fantastic reception.

Suggestions here are welcome.
