Hello, I have a pre-LCI e60, and a couple of months ago I have changed the cd radio to a newer version because the old one died (I had the one without cd numbers below it and switched to the newer one with CD numbers (1-6), the new one was coded and everything worked fine EXCEPT one thing that I never noticed before. The actual way where air should be distributed is not working, I move the knob to left or right but it just doesn't respond to it. There are no errors, except for one regarding some temperature sensor but other than that car is making no problems everything works fine regarding CCC, the only thing is air distribution, and the strange thing is i can control kinda air distribution by moving the temperature knob and lowering it actually moves, here check it out :

Should I maybe change the climate as well to match basically the newer version of CCC or what?

I'm gunna run out to my E60 to check really quick, but I'm pretty sure you have to click on the air distribution areas before it will let you change the values.
thanks for you reply, but i am pretty sure i know how to click on it cause i was using it for last couple years and it worked great it's just last 2 months i didn't try it at all and then i figured it stopped working after my CCC replacement.

Nope! I was wrong. They should start moving immediately.
Have you tried temporarily reinstalling your old, broken CD player to see if this problem goes away? Also, have you scanned the IHKA module for codes, or are you relying on a generic code reader plugged into the OBDII port?

Edit: just watched your second video. That seems REALLY WEIRD and I am not sure what's going on, aside from a potentially failing IHKA?

ahh thats the catch, I basically sold my old (dead one) for this one, so I guess I don't have it anymore.
Regarding errors, I've used Carly and it gave me this error E18F (something about Central Registry does not match the target configuration).
Basically i had M-ask 1 and then he upgraded it to M-ask2, and i think that's where to problem is regarding this ventilation... Looks like knob is not working correctly for that area or something.

Not sure how much Carly can help; I'd get INPA set up and get codes from there.

It could be a simple connection issue. When I had my center stack out to run some wires for a phone charger, my display was all corrupted when I got everything reconnected. I just had to unplug and re-plug in everything and that fixed the issue.

My pre-LCI has the same CD changer as your old one. I'm struggling to see how the CD changer, which is MASK, would affect the IHKA module.

I guess you could be right regarding cd affecting climate, i could re-check all the cables if not then perhaps climate control is maybe dying on me as you said. If i get the same looking one could it require coding?

Basically, i gave up on the issue regarding climate control because i am almost sure it is related to the MASK2 that i bought since the problem started to appear then... It's either not coded correctly or something is fishy with the unit itself. Regarding subs,at first i thought the issue was with them being damaged (water or something), however they work perfectly fine, it just wasn't coded correctly because the previous owner changed he's old MASK unit and the new one wasn't coded properly. The guy that helped me on this changed some settings via NCS Expert it was related to $676, something different was written in that filed and he just replaced it with $676 and boom it worked. I guess you can google around that code.
