Anyone notice window rattle in front windows on their E60? If so, what remedy?
Also front head lights seem to have a row of led's on side, do these ever go on?

I have a 2008 550i (E60) and the driver's door window has an intermittent rattle that drives me crazy. It only occurs when the window is fully up and if I drop the window a fraction of an inch it stops the rattle. The garage lubricated the inside felt with silicon. It worked for a day at the most. I got the impression it's a problem that BMW knows about and does not have a real solution.

Yeah, I don't think it's the classic door seal creaking. My driver's side window is also a bit noisy going up and down.

The quality on my 2008 is not quite what it was on my 2005.

I had a window noise issue that may or may not be the same as what you describe. I asked the dealer to look at it, and they replaced the following parts:

51-21-7-057-507 (Seal)
51-21-7-057-508 (Gasket)
51-21-7-057-509 (Seal)
51-21-7-057-510 (Gasket)

I suspect those are two parts for each the driver's and passenger's front doors.

This was 2-3 months ago, and I have not noticed the problem since.

My CPO 05 had a real bad driver door rattle when I first test drove it. Got it in a few days later and they replaced all the door and window seals and it is perfect now! I hate a car that rattles. I just bough a new 08 Honda Civic for my daily commuter and that thing makes all kinds of interior noises...

Mine also.... went to the dealer once, and they only put a "wax" strip :dunno: (it looks like a regular invisible tapes). It solved the creaking for a short while... and then my pass. door starts to creak again now... but my driver's door remains silent.

Will bring it back again to the dealer during service.

I'm so glad someone brought that up! I have a '05 525i and I have been hearing a really slight rattle coming from my drivers side window. I thought I was just being being crazy but I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one with this problem!

For what its worth I had the same thing that appeared after my car was serviced and washed. I had read on another thread that applying Petroleum Jelly on the door felts would solve the rattle/creak. I literally just tried it about a week ago and the rattles stopped immediately...

I have a slight rattle which I thought was coming from the driver's door. It sounds like a typical door seal noise when going over bumps. I discovered it is, in reality, coming from the grab handle above the driver's door. If I hold onto the handle I do not hear anything when going over bumpy roads. It only occurs during the winter months.

The window rattling is annoying and I had it in my previous E39 and it was solved by removing door panel and tightening the bolt in the pic attached which was loose and made the window rattle bieng loose on the rail. however I have the Pass side creaking noise that is driving me crazy and don't want a trip to the dealer for this and non functional headlights washer only.
