Hello, world!

I have some problem with automatic trunk lid on my 2007 530xd.

The hydraulic cylinder (51 24 7 163 662) fall of the metal "ball pin" after some guy forced to close trunk lid with his hands.

I have putted it back, but the cylinder is not attached to this "ball pin" hard. It is easy to de-attach it.

Is there should be some kind of lock ring or something like this in the cylinder?

The problem is solved by replacing ball pin with new

On its place

It is hard to put cylinder on new ball pin, so i've used this tool to push

For those who wants to know about hole in cylinder - it has stopper ring inside

I have the same problem with my lift gate cylinder. After replacing the pivot pin like you have however, the lift cylinder continues to pop off the pin. I examined the socket and it would appear that I don't have the retaining ring. There is no listing on the OEM site for the part other than the full cylinder assembly. Did you replace the ring or just go with what was there?
