sway bar bracket or link...did you look underneath?
When those parts are replaced under warranty, the BMW work instructions will SURELY require them to do an alignment. If the repairs are warranted, then the alignment is also covered. If they give you lip, you can try to find the actaul documents and toss it back at them...but should be covered.
While it is true that a 'never been aligned' car needs a steering angle calinration, the very small tweeks you need to do on a comntinuing basis will not require steering calibration- I'd bet money no dealer does it on a car unless it was massively damaged or had many new steering parts installed- they'll do the aligment like all the other shops
The front being whacked CAN impact how the rear feels/tracks. Take care of the front, then go from there.
