Good Morning, everybody, I was thinking about getting the ID4 to ID6 and apple carplay service by easy bimmer coding. Specifically this listing here. I've seen nothing but biased reviews of it so if anybody has purchased this service please let me know of your experience and if it's actually worth the upgrade.

This is the service:

Thank you.

I wanted to share my experience with EasyBimmerCoding.
On June 17, 2022, I purchased the ENET CABLE Carplay Fullscreen + Video in Motion + Android Screen Mirroring Unlock. I had some trouble installing it on my car but there customer service is very good at getting back to me. There was a typo with my VIN when I place the order. We troubleshot and it worked perfectly.
However, on March 12 of this year, my car went into the dealership and they did an update to my system. My Fullscreen reverted back to the original size. I tried to re-install but the code no longer worked. After speaking to customer service, they informed to I need to place a new order, basically re-purchase it. And now, they have ignore me and not respond to any emails.

On their website, it states Lifetime activation… this is not true. They also state you can go back to the original state, but it you did that, would the activation code allow you to re-install it. So now, my understand is that this is a one time use. If something were to happen, system gets reset or dealership does any update, you will have to re-purchase from EasyBimmerCoding.

Please be aware of this before you buy their products. I don’t believe this is true with their competitors. I will not re-purchase and will be going somewhere else.

[emoji112]

No idea why this response suddenly switched to Spanish, in an entirely English-written thread. You obviously read English, so…?

‘Lifetime’ is not some sort of standard definition or meaning, which is why anyone who offers ‘lifetime’ should clearly define it.

‘Lifetime’ could mean ‘for the life of the car’, or ‘for the life of the service’, or ‘for the life of the company providing the service’ - and for many cases, each of those meanings applies. Claiming someone is ‘naive’ for not understanding the meaning of ‘lifetime’ is unecessarily arrogant, and reeks of being an apologist for the scammy vendor … making the scammy vendor only appear more scammy, and giving a further reason to avoid them.
