Hey guys, I contacted ECS customer support but they were unable to confirm that...

the bushings in this this kit: http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E46-325xi-M54_2.5L/Search/SiteSearch/Ecs_Teflon/ES259532/

replace this/these: http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E46-325xi-M54_2.5L/Search/SiteSearch/Shifter_Bushing/ES47190/

So my questions...

1) Am I correct in assuming that those teflons bushings replace those shifter bushings (25117519670)?

2) I am aware that the car calls for 2 bushings, does that teflon kit replace both or do those 2 pieces only replace one bushing?

Sorry if this is obvious, I am new to this car (01 325xi) and BMW! Thanks!:dunno:

Ok, so the attached chart seems to indicate I was right about question 1 (that the teflon kit replaces 25117519670), but it seems to me you would need 2 sets (one for each side, but regarding the 2 guide pins... there are 2 different part numbers for the guide pins, so I assumed they were different from one another... So how would this kit work for both?). Unless someone knows for sure I guess I will just replace the bushings with OEM parts. Thanks!

You might want to read up some where people bought those and didn't seem to like them for some reason. I was going to order them when I did my shifter on my car but after what I read I went with the oem rubber ones from ecs instead of the Teflon ones.

Cool... Yeah if I need two sets I don't like the price too much anyway, and don't really see a need to replace the pins at this point anyway... shifter still pretty solid, but I am doing the clutch (168K miles) soon, so I figured I might replace some things. OEM!!!

Thanks for the feedback. Cheers!

Shaft arm bearing (#5) would be a good "while you're in there" candidate too.

Or, just replace the whole shifter with a unit from a Z4....relatively cheap, and a good performer....

Yup... That's my plan! I plan on reusing clips and pins unless someone talks me out of it...

shifter arm bushing - 25111222015
shifter bushing x2 - 25117519670
shifter rod joint - 25117580281 (thought about skipping this, but read it was a good idea to replace)
shifter ball bushing - 25111220600 (this is the white bearing)
e60 shift lever - 25117546373

There's my list, just in case anyone stumbles here and needs the info. I'M OPEN TO FURTHER ADVICE!!!!!!

You had to do that just when I thought I was starting to understand, didn't you? haha

edit: it doesn't seem to work with the xi...

Thanks for chiming in! I'm looking forward to learning this car as well as my dearly missed Prelude...

The kit you're looking at in the original post was incorrectly set to your car, I'm very sorry about that. HERE is a link to the correct kit for the E46 325xi. This kit is going to contain 4 teflon bushings (2 required for each standard rubber bushing) and the two guide pins for the E46 325xi.
